The 10th National Conference on Analytic Philosophy

The 10th National Conference on Analytic Philosophy was held on August 19-21, 2016, in Wuhan. The conference was host by Analytic Philosophy Commission of China Modern Foreign Philosophy Society and organized by the school of philosophy in Wuhan University and Research Center for American philosophy in Wuhan University. It brought together more than 100 scholars from over 50 universities and academic institutions all over the country. The 10th National Conference on Analytic Philosophy explored the issues of science and norms, covering the topics in the philosophy of science, metaphysics, epistemology, practical philosophy, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, and Wittgenstein Philosophy.

 

The conference had two symposiums and eight specialized forums that many young scholars and postgraduates got involved in. In the symposiums, several scholars delivered keynote lectures on diverse topics such as the normative issues in scientific cognition, Goodman’s theory on induction, the relation between fact and norms, and identity over time. The specialized forums encouraged young scholars to preside over the meeting and to communicate with established scholars. It facilitated communications among young researchers and encouraged extensive interaction between two generations of scholars.
